I am completely floored with the invoice that I just received from Cynthia’s office. Not only was nothing worked on for roughly 6months on my case, I just got a bill with dozens of charges for every one of those months!! I hired Attorney Andrea McCarty back in May of 2021 for my divorce. Every thing was perfect when Andrea was my attorney, she was understanding, communication was great, she wouldn’t let the other party run all over me and try to blame me when things weren’t progressing due to their lack of cooperation. She listened to what I wanted, she was realistic with expectations and she FOUGHT for me. When she left the firm just 2 weeks before my pretrial divorce EVERYTHING went downhill from there. Cynthia is the total opposite she did not return calls or emails for months, she was rude, argumentative, and I did not feel at all like she cared what the outcome would be for me and my family. On our first meeting with the other parties lawyers she cut me off, talked over me, and argued with me instead of his lawyer. She agreed with every demand they made and made me feel as though I had no other choice but to give in to what they wanted even though it wasn’t in my best interests. My anxiety has gone through the roof trying to work with her, taking and already stressful situation and making it worse. I did not end one single conversation with her with confidence or relief. Now here I am at a loss for everything I worked hard for in my life to establish with a bill that is completely insane. I don’t know how it accumulated to such a large amount in such a short time with nothing really being done. I am being charged double for having to go over my entire case with her because Andrea left the firm. Before leaving all the emails and notes were left for Cynthia I also spent time forwarding emails to her to make it easier for her to find. I will be contacting the BBB and the Bar for some resolution, I just can’t see how a lawyer could get away with doing something like this to someone. Dissatisfied with these so called “services rendered” would be more than an understatement. Best of luck on finding a proper attorney to represent you.
